The JSQ Education Foundation offers a $4,000 grant each year for educators who aspire to be more accomplished, more motivated, and more effective teachers. The goal for them is to become the best teachers they can be in order to better serve their students, family, and communities.
To apply, applicants must select just ONE of the two topics offered by the JSQ Education Foundation. They are:
Teaching from a Social Justice Perspective
OR
Music, Music, Music.
After selecting ONE of these topics, applicants should explore the information and requirements relative to that topic, the guidelines that are specific to that topic, and the universal application form, all of which are available here on the website - including the criteria for judging the submissions by clicking the links above.
Applicants should follow the guidelines carefully and be certain that the application packages are complete before submission. Deadlines are posted in the guidelines.
Recipients are selected in the spring according to the dates posted on the website. The recipient of the grant will have the summer to explore their areas of interest, methodologies, and/or research, draw conclusions, and design plans to bring back to the classroom and apply to projects, lessons plans, and/or learning activities for the children in or out of the their classroom. In the spring of that academic year, the recipient’s observations and reflections, teaching and learning experiences, the new tools and materials created, and an assessment of students’ learning will be presented in a public forum.
