This program has two functions:
1) to support school libraries and classroom selections
and
2) to promote children's pride in their ownership of book and
their ability to read and learning from them.
This JSQ Program focuses on getting books directly into the hands of children which promotes personal literacy by lending support to the learning environments of children. This is an ongoing program whereby the Foundation accepts donations of (new and gently used) books, and/or funds earmarked for books that are appropriate for libraries, and/or classroom collections or personal ownership. Each year, the JSQ Foundation donates books as they have each year since 2004, to the Literacy Program at Blackstone or other schools like Blackstone where they are distributed to a specified library, an appropriate grade level classroom collections, or the Bedtime Story Hour Program.
